Some readers have compared Owen to Harry Dresden from Jim Butcher’s Dresden Files. Exactly what he was heavily armed with didn’t matter much to me after the first couple of descriptions. The descriptions are a bit much, and my eyes tended to skim after the first few times. It’s one impossible, death-defying fight after another. You have to keep going because you’ve got to find out where the story is going to go. You know you shouldn’t, but once you bite down on it, you can’t resist.
